Creating a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
The Wellness Action Plan is inspired by Mary Ellen Copeland’s Wellness
Recovery Action Plan® (WRAP®), an evidence-based system used globally to
support individuals in managing their mental health. Wellness Action Plans are
personalized, practical tools that anyone can use – whether or not they have a
mental health condition – to identify what helps maintain their well-being at
work, what might lead to mental health challenges, and how to manage mental
health issues should they arise in the workplace.
The plan also facilitates communication withyour manager or supervisor, allowing them tobetter understand your needs andexperiences, which ultimately leads to moreeffective support for your mental health. This, in turn, enhances productivity, performance, and job satisfaction. Just as weall have physical health, we all have mentalhealth. This Wellness Action Plan is designedto help manage our mental well-being, nomatter where we fall on the spectrum.Additionally, Wellness Action Plans areparticularly useful during the return-to-workprocess, providing a framework fordiscussions about the support you need andany workplace adjustments that may behelpful to consider with your manager.
